Parkingpay: The Mobile Solution for Digital Parking Payments

Parkingpay is a comprehensive mobile application designed to streamline the process of paying for parking across Switzerland. This app eliminates the need for physical coins, paper tickets, or searching for a specific parking meter. Users simply open Parkingpay, select their vehicle and parking zone, and start their session digitally. The primary appeal of Parkingpay is its convenience, offering a unified, cashless payment method for over 750 supported locations, including city streets, shopping centers, and barrier-controlled car parks. This makes Parkingpay an essential tool for daily commuters and occasional visitors alike.

Zone-Based Parking Session Activation

To begin parking, users first ensure their location services are active. The Parkingpay app uses GPS to automatically detect available parking zones nearby. The user selects their desired zone from the list and then chooses the registered vehicle they are parking. Parkingpay then displays the specific pricing rules for that zone. The user confirms the session start, and the Parkingpay system begins tracking the parking time. A notification confirms the session is active, replacing the need to display a physical ticket on the dashboard.

Automated Billing and Payment Handling

Parkingpay automates the entire billing process. All parking fees accrued during active sessions are automatically calculated based on the duration and the zone's tariff. The app securely stores the user's preferred payment method, such as a credit card or TWINT. At the end of the billing cycle, Parkingpay charges the total amount due. Users receive a detailed digital invoice within the Parkingpay app, which can be downloaded for personal or business expense tracking. This system ensures users only pay for the exact time they parked.

Barrier-Free Access with LPR Technology

For participating multi-story car parks, Parkingpay integrates License Plate Recognition (LPR) technology. Users drive towards the entry barrier, which is equipped with a camera. The system automatically scans the license plate, checks for an active Parkingpay session linked to that vehicle, and then opens the barrier without the user needing to take a ticket. Upon exit, the same process occurs; the LPR system identifies the vehicle and lifts the barrier after verifying payment is secured through the user's Parkingpay account.

Management of Multiple Vehicles and Profiles

The Parkingpay application allows users to manage several vehicles under one account. This is done within the 'My Vehicles' section of the app, where users can add a car by entering its license plate number and a nickname (e.g., "Family Car"). Users can set a default vehicle for quicker session starts. Furthermore, Parkingpay supports creating sub-profiles for different drivers using the same account, making it ideal for families or businesses that need to track parking expenses for multiple employees from a single centralized account.

Business Account and Collective Billing

Parkingpay offers a dedicated business account solution for companies. An administrator can register the company and then invite employees to join the collective Parkingpay account. All parking sessions initiated by employees using their linked vehicles are then consolidated into a single monthly invoice. The administrator can review and manage these expenses through the Parkingpay business portal, exporting detailed reports for accounting purposes. This feature simplifies reimbursement processes and provides clear oversight of company-wide parking costs.

Customer Support and In-App Assistance

Should users encounter any issues, such as a problem with a payment or a session, Parkingpay provides direct access to support. Within the app, users can navigate to the 'Help' or 'Contact' section to find FAQs and troubleshooting guides. For direct assistance, users can send a message to the support team at [email protected] directly from the app. The support team handles inquiries regarding incorrect charges, technical difficulties, or questions about using specific features of the Parkingpay service.
