Helldivers 2 PC Version Gets Massive Size Cut: From 154 GB Down to Just 23 GB

PC players of Helldivers 2 are in for a much-anticipated upgrade, courtesy of Arrowhead Game Studios and Nixxes Software— the two teams have pulled off a dramatic reduction in the game’s PC file size.

Gone are the days of needing 154 GB of storage space; the title is set to shrink down to a mere 23 GB. This streamlined version is already live in beta testing right now, and it will roll out to the full player base in the coming days, once developers patch up the final remaining bugs.

Arrowhead has also issued a note for players using mechanical hard drives (HDDs): the 11% of the community relying on this hardware might experience slightly longer loading times. The studio specifies that these delays will only add "a few seconds in the most critical scenarios."
